Effectively managing inventory around seasonal peaks, promotional events, and special campaigns ensures you meet customer expectations without overstocking. Follow these techniques to accurately anticipate and plan inventory in Planster.
Begin by marking critical events on your calendar, including:
Major holidays
Annual sales promotions (Black Friday, Cyber Monday)
Product-specific seasonal spikes
Planned marketing campaigns
Estimate the impact of these events on your demand:
Review historical sales data for similar events.
Consult marketing or sales teams to determine expected demand increases.
Define expected lift percentages for each event.
In Planster:
Navigate to the Demand Plan tab.
Select the relevant products and weeks associated with the event.
Manually adjust forecasted demand by entering either a fixed quantity or a percentage increase.
Temporarily increase safety stock levels before anticipated spikes.
Adjust lead times to account for potential shipping or supplier delays during peak periods.

After adjustments, review updated inventory recommendations in the Supply Plan.
Confirm adjustments align with event timing and marketing plans.

Conduct post-event analyses to compare forecasted versus actual demand.
Document learnings to refine future seasonal and promotional planning.
Plan well in advance to accommodate supplier lead times.
Communicate clearly with sales, marketing, and logistics teams.
Regularly revisit and refine demand estimates as events approach.
